Volunteer Application

Adopt a Running Buddy is focused on finding great homes for Austin's high and medium energy shelter dogs by marketing them to the public as running buddies or walking buddies. There are many ways you can help us spread the word and save lives. If you want to help, tell us a little about yourself and what you would like to do.

Most people who see our flyers want to help by walking dogs on the trail. That's great, but it's a separate program. Town Lake Animal Center has a Trail Dogs program that will let qualified volunteers do just that. To apply for the Trail Dogs program, email the Town Lake Volunteer Coordinator directly at TLAC.Volunteers@ci.austin.tx.us.

Answer the next two questions if you are interested in taking photographs. Otherwise you can skip ahead.

This is how you will be credited on the flyers. NOTE: some promotional materials will not have room for you to be credited.

Do you have a website or blog where you could post links to Adopt a Running Buddy?

One of the best ways you can help is by posting flyers of the dogs. Check out the list of currently posted flyers here, then use this form to add your own flyer report. You can add a new location, or post a flyer at an existing location. (When using the Zoho forms, first add yourself as a volunteer, then add the location if it's new, then add the flyer report, each using the appropriate form.)
